Who owns Doctor Gambling
Doctor Gambling is owned and written by Jose Del Pozo. It is not owned by a gambling operator, an affiliate network, a treatment provider or a media group.
The conflict of interest, stated plainly
The owner of this site works in the online gambling industry as a content specialist for iGaming websites. That is his profession and his income.
We could have left that off. Most sites in this position do. We are stating it because a conflict of interest that you know about is something you can weigh; one you discover later is a reason to distrust everything you read. So weigh it: this site is written by someone whose living comes from the gambling industry, and you should read what follows with that in mind.
We would also argue it cuts the other way. Industry experience is the reason this site can tell you which player protections meaningfully reduce harm and which are compliance theatre. That is not knowledge charities and health services generally have, and it is rarely written down anywhere a player can find it.
How this site makes money
It does not. As of today, Doctor Gambling has no revenue. Specifically:
- No affiliate links. Not on the operator pages, not on the help pages, not anywhere. We do not earn a commission if you sign up to a gambling site, and we do not link to gambling sites for you to sign up to.
- No operator advertising and no operator sponsorship.
- No paid placements in our operator assessments. An operator cannot buy a better rating, a listing, or a link.
- No referral fees from treatment providers. When we point you to a clinic, a helpline or a counselling service, nobody pays us for it.
- No sponsored content or guest posts.
Running costs are paid personally by the owner. If that ever changes — if this site takes advertising, donations, grant funding or any other money — it will be disclosed on this page and in a notice on every article, before the first payment is accepted, not afterwards.
How we assess operators
Our operator assessments judge one thing: how well a company protects players. They are based on published sustainability reports, regulator enforcement records and the tools actually available in a live account. Where an operator publishes no meaningful data on player protection, we say so, and we treat that silence as a finding rather than a gap. Our assessment methodology is published in full.

Where we must reference an operator we do so by name without a link, or with a nofollow link to a specific responsible gambling or self-exclusion page. We never link to a registration page, a bonus offer, or any site that accepts players excluded elsewhere.
